The Leader in Me
Leader in Me- Take it Home...
Wasik/Carney Mission Statement...
We believe... we should be leaders to help others be leaders too. We will use the 7 Habits to become better students. We will work hard to pick, plan, and proceed to succeed. We will protect the learning, feelings, and bodies of ourselves and others, so that all the kids can have great futures. We will be safe, respectful, and responsible so that we can have fun at school!
Our students created this mission statement after viewing our Westgate mission statement, along with several others from schools around the country. The kids found common themes and words that they wanted to include in our mission statement. Every student had a voice in the creation of, drafting, and finalizing of the mission statement and where they wanted to see the mission statements placed... They picked our website as one place, for all of you to view! We encourage families to plan their own mission statements!
As you know, we've been using the program Leader in Me within our classrooms on a daily basis and we are SO excited about the progress we've seen at school and we're hoping that you've seen a shift in your students at home too. We'd like to share some basic components of the 7 Habits and the principles and language behind the program for you to use with your student at home. As adults, these paradigm shifts can have a powerful impact on your lives as well- we know it's impacted our lives! Feel free to let us know what you're seeing at home! We'd love to hear...
A great song we shared with our kids about the 7 Habits... www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYDCJR_ApEQ
